Centrally located and employing over 600 people, this government entity provides an important service to support economic growth and delivery of key services to the community and businesses.

Reporting to the Manager, for business partnerships, with a dotted line to the Director, the responsibilities of the Leasing and Licencing Officer are diverse, with a focus on broad internal and external stakeholder relationships. Initially engaged for a 4-month contract, key aspects of this role will assist with the assessment of licence applications and management of compliance matters. This includes the preparation of recommendations and written reports in relation to the application assessments undertaken where no two applications may be alike. The role is also responsible for land, property and facilities leasing negotiations, inspections, renewals and administration. Building and maintaining landlord relationships is also key to enable a higher level of service and to continually assess future leasing requirements.  

Applications are encouraged from experienced property managers, &/or licencing experience, within small business, commercial or residential property fields.  The successful candidate will be a commercially and astute individual with a track record of managing innovative, performance based and robust contract leasing or licencing agreements. This person will have exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills as well as the ability to identify and analyse operational issues and develop strategies for resolution. Commercial acumen and sound judgment are also important qualities, with high regard being given to prior dealings with government contracts and licensing.
