CORPORATE ACCOUNTANT

Our client is a leading provider of personalised financial services across business advisory and accounting, financial planning and more.  A key role has emerged for a commercially minded Corporate Accountant, to act as a true business partner, supporting the divisional business leaders and wider business, contributing to the ongoing success of this growing, successful business.

 

Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager and Board of Directors, your day-to-day responsibilities will include assisting with preparing the financial reports for the group, monthly accounts, reconciliations, and analysis.  Other responsibilities include:

 

  • provide the management team with financial/management reports and advice for business segments
  • preparation of group wide budgets and forecasting
  • undertake month end reporting processes
  • prepare annual tax reports and lodgements for corporate entities
  • assist with the annual financial audit
  • contribute to business processes and systems improvements
  • staff management and supervision
  • ad hoc projects as required

 

The successful candidate will ideally possess:

  • tertiary qualifications in either Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • CPA qualifications (or studying towards)
  • sound working knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and the ability to analyse financial data
  • good understanding of working capital management
  • understanding of income tax compliance for companies, including basic income tax, GST and FBT
  • technical ability to contribute to business transformation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • strong MS Office skills and experience using XERO or similar
  • strong commercial acumen, able to juggle multiple priorities and expectations
  • a desire to build strong relationships across the business
