    • highly developed communication and negotiation skills and the ability to deal with stakeholders at all levels;
    • demonstrated experience in the management, administration and supervision of contracts/tenders and associated technical documentation;
    • strong financial management and experience with the monitoring and preparation of budgets and work programs;
    • proven experience in negotiating and overseeing the development of legal documentation;
    • solid understanding of statutory planning, environmental and OH&S legislation.

    Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Manager – Electrical Works will be the main point of contact during the project phases for design and deliverables of the electrical work packs.

    • managing the large electrical works packages with major sub contractors;
    • overseeing and managing sub-contractors;
    • planning and managing sub-contractors day-to-day within the electrical scope of works;

Our client is a leading energy provider with an established South Australian customer base.  Working as part of the integration team, you will work closely with the Technical Lead to develop specific solutions for critical business functions.

To be successful in this position you will have experience in :-

  • Java mapping utilising XSLT;

  • Integrations Directory and System Landscape Directory;
  • Agile Project Management technologies.

The key responsibilities of this position are :-

Manager - Electrical Works

Our client is a well established civil engineering contracting company currently executing a number of projects in the renewables sector nationally. With a number of high value projects underway, this organisation is currently looking for a Manager – Electrical Works to oversee the electrical works package for these major EPCM projects.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Manager – Electrical Works will be the main point of contact during the project phases for design and deliverables of the electrical work packs.

Key responsibilities of the role include :-

  • managing the large electrical works packages with major sub contractors;
  • overseeing and managing sub-contractors;
  • planning and managing sub-contractors day-to-day within the electrical scope of works;
  • assessing, liaising and coordinating all electrical design aspects of the project;
  • ensuring the contract compliance and on time delivery of milestones for the electrical works package;
  • ensuring regulatory requirements and compliance of all works to drawings;
  • compiling required documentation and ensuring external and internal reporting is accurate and complete;
  • ensuring implementation and observance to HSE-requirements concerning electrical works on construction site are adhered to;
  • providing feedback to sub-contractors regarding non-compliance, RFI’s, changes/variations etc;
  • assessing risks and costs while adhering to budgets;
  • conducting regular meetings on-site to define responsibilities, requirements and constraints.

Due to the size and scope of these projects, applications are invited from highly experienced professionals with a Degree in Electrical Engineering (University) and management experience delivering electrical works packages for high value projects in Australia.

This autonomous site-based role requires the ideal candidate to have hands-on and proven experience in leading electrical work scope on large scale industrial projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, these positions will be responsible for maintaining effective relationships with primary stakeholders, providing technical engineering expertise, scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing and managing all the technical activities, aiming at assuring that all technical project deliverables are achieved on time and on budget.

As a Project Engineer you will be responsible for :-

  • preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring the assigned engineering projects;
  • monitoring compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications;
  • interacting daily with clients to interpret their needs and requirements;
  • performing overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and reporting regularly on project status;

Rosie Crowe

Rosie Crowe

General Manager

Rosie's career originally began in healthcare and nursing, transitioning into sales and marketing roles for a number of organisations both in SA and NSW. Whilst working in Sydney in sales and marketing management positions, she moved into recruitment and in 2001 returned to Adelaide to join a national executive recruitment firm where she remained until joining Hender Consulting in 2006 as Senior Consultant. In early 2007 she earned the role of General Manager for Hender Contracting, and manages a team of Senior Consultants experienced in the contract placement of senior executive on-hire and direct staff across diverse disciplines and industry sectors. 

With over 17 years experience in recruitment in Adelaide alone, and a strong focus on the HR and accounting market, her industry experience covers resources, manufacturing, consumer, professional services, agribusiness, engineering, information technology and education. With her focus predominantly being in the contract market, she has placed many mid to senior level candidates in a large variety of organisations where she enjoys continued relationships, also retaining an in-depth knowledge of the ever-changing contractor market.

Pratiksha Becker

Pratiksha Becker

Pratiksha joined Hender in 2016. After spending nine years in senior roles within Supply Chain Management and Procurement functions in manufacturing both overseas and locally, she took an opportunity in 2007 to join the recruitment industry. With a strong focus on engineers, procurement, supply chain and logistics in industrial, resources and technical sectors, logistics, defence and government, she also offers a unique recruit plus consult strategy to add-value to clients and candidates. 

In 2009 Pratiksha moved back to Germany and started up a successful consultancy and recruitment business. She has now returned to Adelaide with Hender and although her focus is on the technical roles she is also responsible for placing contractors of all disciplines. This includes HR, accounting, marketing and communications. 

Pratiksha has a broad network in the Adelaide market and is very well connected with excellent candidates to support our client's contracting requirements.

Simon Bedson

Simon Bedson

Senior Consultant

Simon has an extensive background in IT recruiting, consulting and professional services. Through his work both in Adelaide and interstate he has built a valuable skill set in supporting businesses to grow and develop their internal human resources and project capacity. 

Working closely with clients to identify and resolve both project and business processes, he is able to look holistically at their economic and cultural environment and genuinely assist by sourcing the right talent for critical, day to day business functions.

Marisa Hunt is a Member of the Recruitment and Consulting Services Association of Australia and New Zealand (RCSA), possessing Human Resources consulting qualifications through Monash University.  Marisa demonstrates more than 20 years experience in recruitment, having held various consulting and senior consulting positions. Marisa’s experience spans contract and permanent recruitment including specialising in the finance and accounting disciplines for over 15 years from support to interim management level. 

She has also developed broader experience recruiting across other commercial and business disciplines including human resources, OH&S, marketing and communications, administration management and specialist roles from mid to senior level appointments. 

Marisa has previously provided ongoing recruitment services for key account relationships with other organisations.  She demonstrates significant experience supplying high volume on-hire staff to commercial enterprise as well as State Government as the Account Manager for the Whole of Government account.
